Under the supervision of Internal Audit leadership, this position is responsible for assessing the design and operating effectiveness of the Company's internal controls. That responsibility includes managing the execution of a risk-based audit plan to assess, report on, and make suggestions for improving the Company's governance and risk management activities. This position may also be asked to perform other duties related to special projects as assigned by Internal Audit management and will be expected to maintain professional and technical proficiency through ongoing professional education.
What you'll be doing
- Clearly communicate the mission and purpose of Internal Audit while building partnerships and strong working relationships throughout the Company.
- Provide manager level auditing expertise and leadership to the Internal Audit team in a collaborative manner, as well as providing ongoing development to the audit team members through coaching, on-the-job training, and other educational opportunities
- Identify, understand, and document processes and procedures surrounding internal controls
- Take a lead role in assisting the Internal Audit leadership team to monitor and audit the Company's compliance with established internal controls (including but not limited to financial reporting and operational controls)
- Identify and assess the implementation of new controls as necessary
- Maintain organized audit workpapers per established methods
- Review various departments' business processes and suggest ways to improve processes
- Coordinate audit efforts with the designated Audit Director
- Coordinate activities with external auditors to support their audit and review procedures
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops/seminars; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
- Establish and maintain productive work relationships with all departments and levels of audit staff
- Perform other duties or special projects as assigned by internal audit management
- Provide on the job coaching to less experienced audit Staff and Seniors
What you will need to be successful
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, problem solving, and relationship building skills
- Ability to work both in a team setting and independently
- Flexibility and adaptability to work on multiple, diverse, financial, and operational audits/projects
- Ability to adapt with changing priorities
- Ability to be challenged and challenge management in an appropriate manner
- Self-starter to be self-sufficient in overall project and role success
- Drive to see tasks through to completion and by established deadlines
- Minimum Years of Experience: 5 plus years of audit experience or 4 years in a Big 4 accounting firm
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, relevant Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Certification(s) Required: CPA (preferred) or CIA, other related professional certifications will benefit the applicant

The compensation range describes the typical minimum or maximum base pay range for this position. The actual compensation offer is determined based on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, and work location.
