Description
As a Pharmacy Technician you will provide pharmaceutical services to patients to improve drug prescription usage and therapeutic outcomes and enhance the Patient Centered Medical Home model. This position will facilitate medication distribution by entering orders, filling prescriptions, and providing customer service. In this role you will work with the patients and other pharmacy staff and you will report to the Pharmacy Manager.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greets customers and answer questions.
Receives prescriptions and check their validity.
Processes prescriptions electronically and ensure all information is complete and accurate.
Resolves issues when they arise (e.g. rejected insurance claims).
Selects the appropriate medicine and measure dosages to fill prescriptions.
Identifies ways to increase medication adherence for patients (e.g. 90-day supplies, medication synchronization).
Sorts, stocks, labels medication and monitor inventory.
Manages inventory appropriately (e.g. order medications and supplies).
Manages OTC inventory and product placement.
Uses EHR appropriately and as needed.
Undertakes administrative tasks (e.g. record-keeping) as assigned.
Complies with all security measures and quality standards.
Complies with all state and federal laws and regulations.
Maintains compliance standards in accordance with the Compliance policies and the Code-of-Conduct. Reports compliance problems appropriately.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Training
High school diploma or equivalent
Current Indiana Pharmacy Technician license
Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred, but not required
Experience
At least Five (5) years of community pharmacy experience preferred
