JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse (RN)
DEPARTMENT: Primary Care
REPORTS TO: Nursing Supervisor
DIRECTION OF OTHERS: Per license
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Provide leadership, direction, organization, and administration of daily clinic operations in the patient care area. Effectively provide high quality service to patients, make independent nursing diagnoses, and develop plans of care based on patient assessment. Create and implement dynamic teaching plans based upon patient need. This position works in collaboration with the Care Team. Teamwork is the norm and all employees will be held accountable to work as effective team members. Service excellence is to be centered on patient care and relationships and is the responsibility of all employees.

Job Functions Specific to this Position:
- Provides nursing assessment and triage of patients in an ambulatory acute care setting through interviewing, observation, and physical assessment.
- Responds to high demand of patient phone calls and e-mails in a timely fashion.
- Explains, administers, and documents all procedures and treatments.
- Demonstrates clinical competence in using the nursing process to provide care to patients and their families either on-site or via the telephone.
- Takes the lead in clinic and on-site emergencies.
- Documents accurately and completely using the electronic medical record.
- Serves as a role model for nursing practice and professional conduct.
- Effectively shares job knowledge with other employees.
- Demonstrates flexibility in performing additional responsibilities to contribute to the improvement in patient care and the functioning of the care unit and other support services.
- At least 30% of the total RN FTE’s is dedicated to Care Coordination.
- Oversight of daily workflow in conjunction with care teams/leaders.
- Ability to work independently and with the RN team.
Performs other related duties as directed by a supervisor/manager.
REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Current Minnesota RN licensure.
- Current WI license or within 2 months of hire.
- Current CPR certification or within 6 months of hire and maintain.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Reflects a positive, supportive attitude and demonstrates respectful interactions with internal and external customers, team members and staff.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years of broad-based experience, including but not limited to Family Practice, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Emergency care.
- Experience with an electronic medical record.
- Telephone consultation experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- No lifting requirements are identified but the potential for lifting exists.
- Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Adequate vision, hearing, and tactile motor skills.
- Manual dexterity required.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires full range of body motion, which includes handling and lifting patients, stooping or stretching, hand-eye coordination, and manual and finger dexterity. Requires walking and standing for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires normal vision and hearing range, and the absence of color blindness.
