Overview:

Under the general direction and supervision of the Clinic Administrator and/or Provider, prepares patients for clinical encounters to include patient screening and collection of health history, as well as coordinates and follow-up on patient care.

Essential Functions:

1. Meets with and timely responds to patients in your provider panel(s) who walk into the center for any reason.
2. Performs clinical procedures within appropriate scope of practice (e.g. pediatric and adult injections, tympanograpy, audiometry, spirometry, dispenses medications, venipuncture, EKGs, vision screening, dressing changes, etc.)
3. Assists provider with procedures.
4. Performs patient follow-up and coordinates care (e.g. obtains prior authorizations, completes patient forms/documents for provider review, follows-up on abnormal results, etc.), per clinic protocol.
5. Refills patient medications per clinic protocol.
6. Assesses patients paperwork to determine what needs to be done, including review health record (e.g., health history, labs, imaging, immunizations) and complete it within scope of abilities to give to provider.
7. Enters in and tracks patient recalls (childhood and adult immunizations, future blood work, abnormal paps, colonoscopies, etc.).
8. Tracks outpatient referrals to completion.
9. Operates and maintains centers medical equipment based on the manufacture instructions and clinic protocols.
10. Reviews and coordinates with other departments and integrates work with other staff to ensure timely and accurate patient flow.
11. Participates in meetings.
12. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities.
13. Complies with Health West's policies and procedures.
14. Utilizes specialized office and medical equipment following procedures implemented by Health West Inc.
15. Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• CNA or Phlebotomy certification required
• Current BLS
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant Program or Equivalent preferred
• Graduation from a Practical Nursing Program or Equivalent preferred

• Minimum - one-year recent experience in a health care setting preferred.
