What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Camp Counselor position at Heartland?
Summary: Primary supervision of children within our Summer Day Camp program.
Primary Duties and Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide support to counselors responsible for a small group of youth ages 5-11 on site and on field trips.
- Complete all paperwork and administrative duties as assigned.
- Be aware of and follow all safety precautions and procedures. This includes never being solely responsible for your cabin group.
- Responsible for the implementation of program plans as assigned by the director, assistant director.
- Willingness to participate in all planned activities such as swimming, group games, crafts, and music.
- Help with the maintenance of all areas used by the day camp.
- Conform to the weekly schedule by attending all staff meetings.
- Be responsible for assisting in caring for all individuals within assigned group/cabin.
Qualifications: Minimum of 18 years of age
Education/Experience: Some formal work with youth
Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of computers
Certificates and Licenses: Current CPR and first aid certification; current Safe From Harm certification
