The position will report to the Catering Manager and Tamarack Executive Chef. They will assist in culinary oversite ensuring operations are run safely, efficiently and cost effectively while exceeding customer service expectations at this spectacular mountainside Lake View location.
Specific job duties are, but not restricted to:
- Deliver the Experience of a Lifetime to our guests, clients and employees.
- Working with the Catering Manager assist in managing all aspects of the Heavenly Catering Operations executing banquet functions from 20 people to 300 people.
- Supervise daily operations of the kitchen and staff ensuring adequate staffing levels by assisting with hiring and recruiting, training and operational supervision.
- Work with Catering Team to design and execute current and compelling menus to guest’s requirements.
- Assures completion of all administrative duties as needed on a daily & monthly basis.
- Embrace the search for innovation and change. Implement these changes to exceed our guests’ expectations and company goals.
- Responsible for cost control, COG’s analysis, inventory management, portion control and food production to recipe guidelines.
- Ensures food is received, stored, handled, prepared and presented in a timely and hygienic manner.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of all assigned products according to business levels and help supervise month end inventory processes.
- Assist in building & maintaining a high functioning team through the ability to hold staff accountable to Vail Resorts policies, procedures and performance standards.
- Maintain a safe environment keeping the location compliant with all Health and Safety requirements while creating and maintaining a culture of safety at all times.
- We are a company that works together; and throughout the season you may be required to assist other departments as needed.
Job Requirements:

- 4 year’s culinary leadership experience in wedding, special event & business dinner event catering environments.
- Intermediate or better computer skills; working knowledge of Word/Excel/Outlook.
- Exceptional communication skills, guest service and team building abilities.
- Serve Safe Food Managers Certified Required.
- A flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to attend work in winter weather environment.
- Participative leader who has a lead by example management style with a hands-on work ethic.
