What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director - Extended Care Program (Multi-Site) position at HEF?

Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Director leads and manages multiple onsite after school programs for children ages 5-12 in AUSTIN area.

Position demands 50% traveling.

Bachelors Degree required.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide successful management and leadership to the program and the after school staff
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the after school sites on a daily basis
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the program curriculum throughout the program sites year-round
  • Facilitate the hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of all staff with effective recruitment and retention strategies
  • Plan and facilitate scheduled professional development days and other required staff meetings
  • Conduct daily site visits to ensure safety, implementation and quality programming and provide regular evaluation and feedback to program staff
  • Organize camps during school breaks
  • Manage the budget while ensuring the program operates within budget and the program fees are collected
  • Consistently and effectively communicate with schools and stakeholders to build positive relationships
  • Maintain accurate records of staffing, attendance, and funds
  • Assist accounting department to process payroll for staff

Qualifications and Requirements:

Previous professional work experience at a child care facility is a must for this position.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Child Development, Early Childhood Education, and/or Business Management preferred)
  • Experience: supervisory (2 years)
  • Familiarity with youth development principles across multiple age groups

Applicants are required to pass background and FBI fingerprinting check to be considered for employment.

  • Detailed-oriented self-starter with strong leadership, organizational and communication skills, and the ability to work independently
  • Computer skills and the ability to track data and produce reports
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to take and implement constructive feedback
  • Ability to build a positive culture within staff and students

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
