What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Coordinator position at Hefty Seed Company?
Hefty Seed Company is a rapidly growing agriculture retailer. As our company expands so does our team! We are currently looking to fill a Logistics Coordinator position. The ideal candidate will have the ability to remain highly organized and multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented work environment. Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
- Quoting, booking, and tracking/monitoring both less than truckload (LTL) and full truckload shipments.
- Shipping products both intercompany and directly from production facilities.
- Structuring shipments and load planning so freight moves efficiently to deliver time sensitive product on time.
- Plan shipments properly, considering weather conditions, freeze protection, HAZMAT products, etc.
- Recording and approving of shipping invoices.
- Working with dispatchers and carrier reps to resolve disputed invoices or other concerns.
- Filing claims with carriers for lost, damaged or missing product.
- Maintain consistent contact with the shipping/receiving store locations so they are aware of all moving freight and have all necessary paperwork and placards to avoid potential delays.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferable but not required:
- Logistical experience or relevant education.
- Knowledge of Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of hazardous materials.
