Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Thornton, Illinois facility located in 620 W 183rd St Thornton, IL 60476.
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for performing repairs and maintenance on diesel and gasoline engines, power train components, hydraulic systems, air brake systems, suspension and steering systems, electrical systems, as well as specialized component repairs. Additionally, they will be required to track scheduled maintenance, perform road calls, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of experience in heavy equipment repair or vocational training
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety precautions
- Ability to lift and carry up to lbs
Work Environment:
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic must be capable of performing duties in various climates and tolerate heights, as well as work in confined spaces and wear personal protective equipment.
