Responsibilities:

• Train, develop, and supervise Meat Associates to meet sales objectives, margin, and customer service levels.
• Train and develop Meat team on department best practices and procedures.
• Prioritize and delegate daily work based on varying business needs.
• Communicate effectively to the Meat team, merchandisers and corporate teams.
• Serve alongside of associates, completing daily tasks as needed, including: scanning and recording shrink, order writing, raw production, incidental cutting, stocking, rotating and merchandising.
• Create weekly schedule for Meat Associates in alignment with the needs of the business.
• Responsible for the effective leadership of the team.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products within the Meat Department.
• Monitor and maintain all food handling and temperature standards.
• Execute merchandising plans.
• Create and communicate scorecards to drive change within the Meat Department.
• Utilize the white board for department communication, and in general, communicating appropriately to Meat team.
• Attend required corporate meetings and training classes.
• Comply with all personal and food safety company standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year of experience in a meat environment preferred.
• 1-3 years of leadership experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Possess the ability to lead and make appropriate decisions in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess strong time management, planning, and organizing skills.
• Possess the ability to effectively coach, train and provide feedback to all team members.
• Possess the ability to perform all duties as a Meat Associate, as the business requires.
• Possess the ability to frequent lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
• Must be willing to work the amount of hours required to meet company objectives, with the understanding that occasionally business needs will require additional time.
• Must be willing to work the non-traditional five day work schedule, including Saturday, Sunday and evenings.
• Occasionally exposed to extreme conditions, hot or cold.
