Position Summary:
The Staff Development Coordinator (SDC) Nurse is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating educational programs for nursing services and other departments as needed. This role ensures that all staff are competent in their roles, have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide quality care, and comply with all regulatory and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement orientation programs for new employees and ongoing educational programs for current staff.
- Assess the educational needs of the staff and create training programs to address these needs.
- Coordinate and conduct in-service training sessions and educational programs.
- Maintain accurate records of training activities and staff competency assessments.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding staff education and training.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs and develop appropriate solutions.
- Participate in the development and revision of policies and procedures related to staff development and education.
- Provide support and guidance to staff to enhance their professional development.
- Conduct regular evaluations of staff performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
Qualifications:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
- Previous experience in staff development or educational roles preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to long-term care and staff education.
