Transportation Aides assist with transporting our DCFS clients, including foster children and intact families, to various department approved appointments and functions along with providing other caregiver support as needed.

Responsibilities
- Transportation Assistance – Provide transportation for DCFS clients to appointments and other activities and events within the community such as grocery shopping, medical appointments, and other errands.
- Companionship – Provide companionship and conversation by stimulating, encouraging and assisting an individual.
- Communication/Reporting – Report proactively on client updates and statuses, ensuring a positive environment with healthy communication. Maintain a log book with details on each trip. Alert clinical staff when concerns with client wellness arise.
Qualifications
- High school degree or GED required, or one year of documented home care experience
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle with up to date insurance coverage
- Commitment to serving our clients and their property with dignity, patience, compassion, and respect
- Recognition of the needs and concerns of others, and the ability to build strong client-centered relationships without regard to location, socio-economic environment, medical diagnosis, ethnic origin or religion
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the willingness to work weekends or evenings in order to support clients
- Dedication to professional development, including completion of organizational and state-required training – Help At Home will provide a pre-service program and 16 hours of driver training for this role
