HELPSY keeps clothes out of the trash. We are seeking energetic team members to join our location in NJ/ NY.
This position will be a hybrid position between facility and remote.
You can also feel great about supporting hundreds of charities and keeping millions of pounds of usable clothing out of the trash.
The HR Generalist works with the facility management team and supports them in all HR activities. This includes staffing, employee onboarding/offboarding, training, benefits administration, payroll support, safety, and other HR projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Lead the staffing effort of the new facility.
- Act as the first point of contact for employees for HR-related questions and requests. Guide the escalation, redirection, or resolution as appropriate, with empathy, while being pragmatic and consistent with standards and guidelines.
- Develops, implements reinforces and modifies HR policies, programs, and procedures. Audits HR policies, programs, and procedures against relevant legislation and best practices and recommends improvements.
- Focuses on solving conflict, not blaming; Maintains confidentiality; Remains open to others' ideas and tries new things.
- Develops and implements programs to enhance the company culture.
- Works with the safety team to ensure a safe and productive environment.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in HR, Business, Organizational Development, or related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in HR.
- PHR or SPHR certificate preferred.
- Bi-lingual preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Communicates clearly and persuasively in positive or challenging situations; listens and gets clarification.
- Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments.
- Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects, and prioritize them appropriately.
- Ability to work well both independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Google or related software
