Previous experience in auto repair, building construction, and/or retail management is highly recommended.
Assistant Managers (Managers in Training) are responsible for all facets of customer service, order delivery, and associated administrative functions. This position will be key to the success of a group of stores as we continue to grow and expand throughout Michigan. This position will quickly prepare you to operate your own store or stores depending upon experience.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to work with tools and develop an expert knowledge of Auto and Flat glass work.
- Sales oriented attitude, with a focus on superior customer service.
- Provides, trains and enforces exceptional customer service within a team environment.
- Must have excellent communication skills to explain features, benefits and warranties of company products and services to customers
- Handles customer complaints by telephone and in person.
- Willing to lead by example and get hands dirty to get the job done.
- Processes transactions and completes daily cash out procedures following documented policies and procedures.
- Completes store opening and closing activities.
- Exhibits good organizational skills.
- May be trained to occasionally cut glass for picture frames, etc.
- May be trained to perform basic windshield repairs.
- Tools and Materials Used: Computer, photo copier, fax machine, hand tools and safety equipment.
Job Conditions and Work Schedule:
Fast Paced Environment, Self-Paced Work, usually 40-45 hours per week, as business needs dictate. Schedules are based upon normal office hours of M-F 8am-5pm and Sat 8am-1pm
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience leading, supervising and training skilled employees in retail and/or auto repair or building construction industries.
- Patience to learn and work through solving problems.
- Valid driver's license with a track record of safe driving.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75lbs.
- High school diploma or GED, College degree preferred.
