Summary of Position:
- A Chemical Operator safely manufactures bulk adhesive product according to specification and with minimal supervision.
Job Responsibilities:
- Properly read and conduct Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Safety Documents, and Manufacturing Instructions
- Move 1-5 gallon containers of material in and out of -40 C freezers
- Operate weighing, mixing, milling, and ram press equipment of various types
- Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and work area between jobs to avoid safety hazards and cross contamination
- Handle temperature and UV sensitive material in a safe and timely manner
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or technical school graduate, or general education diploma (GED), with 1 to 3 years related experience, preferably in a production environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be able to read, speak, and write legibly in English, and be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
- Must be in good physical condition and with no restrictions in movement and be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis during a shift.
- Must be able to work overtime before and after the start of a normal shift, also on weekends.
- Must be able to follow company rules regarding the safe handling of hazardous chemicals and must be computer proficient (Lotus Notes, Internet, SAP, Windows 7, Microsoft Office)
