SUMMARY We are currently seeking a Compliance Manager to join our Compliance and Internal Audit team. This full time role will work days. The Compliance Manager provides broad-based management of the Hennepin Healthcare Compliance Program and manages compliance program staff. The Compliance Manager reports to the Chief Compliance Officer. This role is critical to maintaining transparency in the Compliance Program and fostering a culture of compliance throughout the organization. The Compliance Manager works closely with staff throughout the organization to identify and investigate compliance issues, facilitate productive problem-solving discussions, and effectively mitigate compliance risks. RESPONSIBILITIES - Maintains an in-depth understanding of organizational Code of Conduct, policies and procedures, as well as relevant federal and state laws, regulations, and health industry best practices - Oversees compliance department staff - Assists with development and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures, as well as training and educational communications. - Manages development and oversight of compliance monitoring/auditing activities and corrective action plans, including delegation of audit activities to compliance staff and vendors - Provides oversight for external audits of HHS, including managing staff who assist with facilitation of external audits and coordinating with revenue cycle management - Assists with Compliance Hotline/Investigation management, including conducting and directing internal compliance investigations throughout the organization - With direction from the Chief Compliance Officer, facilitates operational compliance committees and manages the development, implementation and management of compliance activities under the purview of these committees - Researches inquiries received from operational areas and makes recommendations regarding compliance with policies and regulations, while coordinating with legal counsel and other subject matter experts, as appropriate - Develops and measures Compliance Program metrics - Assists Chief Compliance Officer with developing compliance reports for executive leadership and governing body - Exercises good judgement and skill related to compliance program elements, compliance investigations, and regulatory interpretation. - Conducts other related activities and duties as assigned
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Education/ Work Experience: - Bachelor s degree - 3+ years of experience working in a health care compliance department OR - An approved equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred Qualifications: - Supervisory experience. - Experience in health care provider organizations (such as health systems or provider practice groups) - Credential(s) relevant to compliance program activities, health information management/coding credential or clinical credential Leadership Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities - Ability to effectively manage company resources (i.e. budget and personnel) - Skilled in managerial duties (i.e. hiring, firing, performance appraisals, pay reviews) - Experience with Word, Excel, other Microsoft Office Products and other reporting tools. - Innovative thinker; ability to contribute new ideas that support organizational goals - Strong ability to motivate employees and inspire positive change within department - High standard of ethics, discipline, and professionalism - Skilled in interacting with individuals throughout a large organization - Skilled in fostering a positive workplace culture and building inclusive workplace team Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities: - Demonstrated knowledge of health care laws and regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid benefit and reimbursement - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Skills in oral and written communications License/Certifications: - Certified in Health Care Compliance (CHC), or willingness to obtain certification within one year of hire dateStrategic Account Director (French and German speaker)
