Herbein Risk Management is a division of Herbein Company, Inc., formed in 2013 when Financial Outsourcing Solutions (FOS) joined Herbein.
Herbein Risk Management (HRM) has an open position for a Risk Management Intern.
Opportunities exist year round for current students who have an interest in the following:
- IT Audit
- Banking Internal Audit - Compliance
- Banking Internal Audit - Internal Controls
Our Risk Management Interns receive formal training, generous pay, a dedicated mentor, and gain valuable hands-on experience and insight into the internal auditing world. Our interns average 25 hours a week and we are flexible to work around class schedules for students.
Interns may be assigned to work in one of our current HRM office located in Reading, PA; Spring House, PA; or Allentown, PA.
Responsibilities/Qualifications
- Assist the audit team with internal audits of financial institutions.
- Test internal controls for FFIEC, SOX, and ISO compliance in accordance to audit standards, guidelines and best practice.
- Review and detail test controls in the financial institution’s environment to source documentation.
- Prepare work papers that are consistent with generally accepted auditing standards, as well as established firm standards.
- Support special projects, as required.
Additional Details
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, IT, or related area of study as a Junior or Senior
- 3.0 GPA or higher
- Must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to think strategically with risk awareness and appropriate judgment
- Able to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Desire to learn.
- Ability to multi-task
- Able to travel with others on the team regularly for regional travel to the clients we support
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
