Description:
The Production Supervisor-Machining is responsible for the Parts Manufacturing Department. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for executing the build schedule of critical components for the area and planning the work of the team to hit the goals necessary on time shipment and quality. Additional duties include training employees, setting performance goals, organize, and assign work, and maintain a productive and motivated climate.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the assessment of employees and structuring of annual individual and team goals within the department.
Reports directly to the Production Operations Manager.
Responsible for daily staffing assignments to balance and improve production flow and output.
Reviews daily/weekly production schedules for the area of responsibility and schedules/plans work in the area to support the deadlines necessary for on time delivery.
Responsible for the work output of the area cleanliness, organization etc.
Works with manufacturing engineering to identify areas of improvement and drives changes to improve throughput, quality, and technology.
Trains employees on processes and maintains training records for area.
Required to show leadership to all employees daily.
Resolve conflicts within the area.
Required to incorporate the ERP and MES systems as they relate to duties and responsibilities.
Provide team work to implement LEAN concepts in 5S program, Workstation Cells, POU storage and maximize production throughput.
Maintains currency with respect to technical skills by attending training classes, administration courses, independent research, seminars, and video tapes.
Qualifications:
High school grad or GED required, College or continuing education preferred.
CNC/Machining Experience preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Conflict Management
Team player: supports teammates and colleagues.
Strong organizational skills.
Five years of related technical or leadership experience.
Effective communication skills.
PC experience (MS Office, CAD).
