Overview
As a Validation Test Technician, reporting to the Validation Engineering Manager, you will influence business success by applying your skills in software and hardware build and testing strategies within a high-tech industry. Your work will impact all phases of the product development and deployment lifecycle. You will support both engineering testing support and verification and validation of ongoing release cycles; supporting an exciting new range of products; carry out tasks and activities across the Engineering team located in Morton, IL. As a Validation Test Technician at AutonomouStuff you will work side by side with V&V Engineers, other V&V Technicians, Software Engineers, and Hardware Engineers to build/modify test benches and platforms as well as deliver quality testing to support production autonomous use cases for world’s first technology. A varied skillset of electrical, mechanical, software, and basic IT infrastructure understanding is beneficial for this role. Multiple software solutions and tools are utilized to build test benches and platforms and then to execute testing and validation. It is the technician’s responsibility to make sure the testing assets are built, maintained, and upgraded as well as ensure the tests are executed. Troubleshooting and out of the box thinking is a must to solve problems that are encountered. It is also the responsibility of the validation technician to create documentation, enter issues identified, and clearly communicate with the rest of the team.
Responsibilities
The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in Morton, IL.
As Validation Test Technician, you will:
- Perform test execution for new firmware, software, or hardware.
- Plan and execute testing assets builds and upgrades, such as Test Benches, HIL Benches, and Vehicle Platforms.
- Proactively and regularly communicate with the project team to update on validation status and generate reports to provide assurance that all critical aspects have been evaluated, validated, and deliverables have been met.
- Submit issue tickets
- Monitor vehicle system feedback and control outputs from our hardware and software products.
- Analyze, coordinate, and perform failure analysis activities, most importantly issue entry, to assist with identifying root cause of reported issues. Work to debug issues and perform quality inspections verification tests on vehicles and other equipment.
- Creation and maintenance of process documentation for validation activities along with follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions, and guidelines.
- Participates in CI activities and process development along with identifying process improvement opportunities and equipment needs for validation/testing.

- Limited but some travel may be needed to complete projects.
Qualifications
Must-Have:
- Intermediate skills with WORD and EXCEL (authoring/editing technical documents)• Proven attention to detail and organization (including technical proofreading, follow-through, and project communication).• Associate degree with a technical focus or minimum of 24 months of directly relevant experience. • Experience in a collaborative environment• Strong troubleshooting experience• Experience with software-based testing• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.• Understands electrical, mechanical, and control systems. Can analyze the problem and synthesize alternative solutions.• Must be able to use basic hand tools and specialized tools as appropriate. • Experience with hardware interfaces like CAN-bus, Ethernet, and computer networks.• Professional, flexible and self-motivated individual with the ability to self-prioritize and multi-task with an eagerness to learn.
