Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Clerical responsibilities: Mailing, copying, filing, sending audiology files for scanning, obtaining and tracking Purchase Orders (hearing aids), managing the Hearing Aid log book and discharge files, monitoring hearing aid supplies and accessories.
- Implement and monitor “call-back” program for re-evaluations.
- Assist with scheduling of outpatients.
- Maintain departmental forms and printed protocols and hearing aid invoices.
- Assist with telephone and written correspondence related to appointments, orders, and insurance authorizations.
- Perform hearing aid checks, repairs, and programming.
- With supervision, dispense hearing aids, and meet with patients regularly during the 30 day trial period to train them in the use of their hearing aid, as to make any desired adjustments or recalibrations.
- With supervision, remain available to patients throughout the full year warranty period to monitor and correct any problems that may arise and help maximize their use of amplification.
- Document all patient interactions in Meditech and forward appropriate charges to Dept. Manager.
- Assist secretary with coordination and maintenance procedures related to Medical Records (e.g., scanning).
- Maintain records for, and assist in the implementation of dispensing of hearing aid supplies and accessories.
- Coordinate and provide services during 2-3 designated “walk-in” blocks of time weekly.

Qualifications
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders or equivalent required.
Minimum Licenses and Certifications
- Current MA licensure preferred. Must possess educational requirements and willingness to obtain licensure
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
- Professional manner, strong organization skills, ability to perform multiple tasks with minimum supervision, independent judgment and decision making skills are essential attributes.
- Strong computer experience preferred.
