Basic Function
Performs warehouse and inventory management functions for assigned plant(s) under the direction of the Inventory/Materials Supervisor, including multiple warehouse locations or systems storage locations depending on assignment. Ensures warehouse / materials management provides greatest overall benefit to company; ensures shipping, receiving, storage and distribution are performed in an efficient manner and according to company policies and procedures; ensures goods are available when and where needed in the required quantity, quality and price.
Job Duties
- Performs warehouse and inventory management activities including but not limited to goods issuances, goods receipts and kitting/picking activity, and ensures assigned jobs are completed according to policies and procedures, safely and effectively.
- Oversees and coordinates inventory of materials and parts to maintain required supply, including evaluating inventory levels and auto-reorder system procedures.
- Facilitations plant workflow for inventory set up, including setting up new/requested parts numbers, stock records, bin locations, order quantities and parts association.
- Expedites materials for upcoming and overdue warehouse material purchases.
- Takes precautions to protect warehouse contents, equipment, building and tools against loss.
- Creates, retains and reviews warehouse documents and reports.
- May manage the plants surplus and scrap material processes according to policies and procedures, including managing third party auction providers and scrap metal buyers.
- Performs inventory cycle counts according to policies and procedures.
- Manages tool rooms, repairable material storage location or other process tracking/monitoring as assigned.
- Coordinates storage or lay down yards for engineering, maintenance, turnaround and capital materials, moves or delivers materials from warehouse to various staging locations.
- Reviews receipt and Purchase Order documents to facilitate invoice payment.
- May support system enhancements or changes, and ensures warehousing information systems and hardware are properly utilized.
- Supports internal audit activity, including yearly material and supply count verifications.
- May serve on the plant Emergency Operations Command team.
- Ships various packages using proper shipping methods, including shipping hazardous materials according to policies and procedures. Arranges freight transportation for various LTL or dedicated load shipments.
- Prepares and maintains all related shipping documentation including requisitions, MTRs, SDS sheets, making photocopies, maintaining filing system and completing forms.
- Operates vehicles, forklifts, banding equipment, and hand tools as required for handling, crating and uncrating materials safely and effectively.
- Maintains a neat, clean and well-organized and professional work area, including housekeeping and performing basic janitorial duties for warehouse.
- Other, similar warehouse operations or inventory management tasks assigned by direct supervisor, as determined from time to time at their discretion.
Experience
Must have completed apprentice training which may consist depending on location a specified number of hours of 20 books and/or CBT’s and/or certifications in forklift, safety, HAZMAT general awareness, fire extinguisher, materials handling and chemicals, or a minimum of three years of on-the-job experience with some experience working with an inventory control system depending on location.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Three years of shipping and receiving with some experience working with an inventory control system, and /or previous refinery experience in material handling and inventory control beneficial depending on location is preferred. Transportation management, computerized inventory control (preferably SAP) and distribution/warehouse operations experience.
Education Level
A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Required Skills
Ability to operate machinery such as a forklift, hand jack and wrapper and vehicles; punctual, dependable, and flexible. Basic reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations skills. Ability to learn and apply new information and basic skills in area of operations/specialty. Interpersonal skill, organization and ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication. Ability to handle special projects while performing regular job duties. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements
Job conditions require standing, walking, sitting, twisting, stooping, crouching, kneeling, talking or hearing, making visual inspections, making precise hand and finger movements, reaching or grasping, lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs, pushing and/or pulling up to 70lbs, climbing up to 50ft, ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is essential, valid state drivers licenses and proof of insurance required, perceiving color differences, wearing personal protective equipment (beards not permitted), and strenuous physical activity. Driving and offloading/unloading equipment including but not limited to chemical totes, pressure vessels, tanks, rotating equipment.
