Job Description
Every HLA-Northrop teacher has the opportunity to join a team of motivated, mission-driven teammates who are committed to taking responsibility for their students’ learning. HLA-Northrop teachers are charged with providing a rigorous, engaging, and structured learning environment for their scholars. The Music Teacher will deliver standards-based, differentiated instruction to our elementary scholars and collaborate with a team of Specialist teachers to align on routines and systems that support student success.

Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education (or related field)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with colleagues, students, and families
- Must have a growth mindset
- Awareness of self and the ability to understand, appreciate, and interact within different cultural contexts
- Experience working with students of color or students growing up in under-resourced communities
- Must be a problem-solver and self-directed learner
- Prospective applicants must demonstrate a clear record of achieving significant gains with their students and possess a strong belief that they can help close the opportunity gap for all
- Possess or be qualified to secure Minnesota teacher license
Preferred:
- Bilingual or multilingual (Spanish and/or Somali preferred)
- Two or more years teaching in a high-need school with demonstrated student results
