AP/AR Accountant

Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Accountant needed in Omaha, NE to join a small group of Accounting professionals. The ideal candidate would have 2 years of AP/AR experience, and the willingness and drive to move up the ranks and quickly grow in a long-term accounting role. Our client is looking to get a candidate started immediately!

Responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable Accountant:

• Receive incoming invoices and check requests, meticulously ensuring all required documentation is included.
• Answer questions from employees related to payroll topics i.e. commissions, bonuses, name/address/salary changes
• Process garnishment requests
• Process employee advances and paybacks
• Calculate and deposit payroll taxes
• Facilitate the necessary approvals for processing and payment by collaborating with relevant departments or stakeholders.
• Methodically sort and meticulously review invoices and check requests to verify accurate account codes, eligible discounts, and proper payment terms.
• Perform precise data entry of all approved invoices and check requests into the Accounts Payable (A/P) system, ensuring the records are accurate and complete.
• Prepare the daily cash sheet with meticulous attention, accurately matching electronic payments and checks to their respective invoices.
• Engage in a comprehensive reconciliation process to identify and resolve any payment discrepancies promptly.
• Exhibit a systematic approach to maintaining an accurate record of daily financial activities.
• Maintain a meticulous record of all credit card transactions, promoting transparency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Qualifications/Requirements of the AP/AR Specialist:

• 1 years of Accounting experience required
• Proficiency in Excel. Experience using pivot tables and v-lookups.
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred
