Data Visualization Specialist
HighPoint’s professionals focus exclusively on helping government agencies and companies implement their most critically strategic initiatives. The role of Data Visualization Specialist contributes to HighPoint by designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining reporting within the Qlik Database Schema, which is a part of the STORES Database.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent SQL and PL/SQL coding skills -Experience with dimensional modelling preferred.
- Experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes and methodologies.
- Ability to author technical and functional documentation (specifications, design documents, requirements).
- Working knowledge of Qlik Sense visualization software preferred.
- Ability to elicit business requirements, map business processes, and translate these components into designs for data models and ETL processes is critical.
- Fundamental background in statistics and basic principles of data science strongly encouraged.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist client in the preparation of special data requests. These activities include gathering requirements, developing, testing, documenting, and presenting the special data request solution.
- Facilitate regularly occurring client reporting working group sessions and provide guidance to client report analysts for SQL query best practices in addition to report visualization best practices.
- Serve as a program Subject Matter Expert in visual reporting, specifically utilizing Qlik Sense visualization software.
- Present reporting solutions and extended analysis findings to system end user management as requested.
- Proactively gather requirements for reporting schema dimensional models and design, develop, test, and document those dimensional data models and supporting Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes.
- Responsible for working directly with the client and system end user management to create reporting solutions for extended system reporting capability and special data requests.
- Work with the client as the custodian of a dimensional data model reporting schema.
- Responsible for the sustainment and development of additional data models within that schema.
EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 2 years in a computational and/or analytical role.
- IT-2 Clearance.
