What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor position at HIGHTS Inc.?
HIGHTS is seeking a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) to provide substance use prevention and treatment services to middle and highschool youth primarily in Haywood, Jackson, and Macon Counties. The CADC will work within a team of youth specialists in HIGHTS’ alternative to suspension and afterschool programs. Additionally, the CADC will provide addiction prevention activities and counseling to youth in schools and the community. Based in Jackson County, NC but serving the surrounding region, HIGHTS' mission is to transform youth in Western North Carolina by inspiring trust in their own abilities, connection to a caring community, and hope for a better future. HIGHTS serves vulnerable youth and families in Western North Carolina. We use experiential activities, community service projects, job training, and goal-driven exercises to help youth develop life skills and instill feelings of community belonging and purpose. The successful candidate must be a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or certified eligible. HIGHTS offers free supervision by a Clinical Certified Supervisor. The salary range of $38,000 - $45,000 is dependent on experience.
