This opportunity resides with Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), a business group within HII's Mission Technologies division. Summary

HII-Mission Technologies is looking for a self-motivated Part-time Program Manager (PM) with outstanding organizational skills and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment. In this role, the PM is responsible for running the daily operations of the assigned program, including but not limited to cost, schedule, and performance supporting the division's goals and objectives.

What You Will Do
  • Responsible for the oversight and performance of defense projects or a definable portion of a larger operational and technical program in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Closely works with project managers to ensure all technical, cost, and schedule milestones are achieved within the project.
  • Directs and supervises all support resources for the performance of project assignments and activities.
  • Manages the operational and technical direction of a project through the design, implementation, and testing in accordance with project objectives.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects.
  • Takes projects from original concept through final implementation. Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
  • Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
  • Provides operational and technical guidance to project teams.
  • Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
  • Responsible for the functional management of operational and technical teams.
  • May supervise professional and technical personnel performing in their regular disciplines.
  • Participates in the development and execution of budgets, marketing plans and other strategic tools.
  • Participates in driving initiatives for achieving established objectives.
  • May serve as the primary or assistant technical and management interface for the company, customer, and senior staff.
  • Provides management services including general administrative oversight, time accounting, financial tracking, cost projection, inventory management, personnel evaluation, and support.
  • Establish clear organizational lines of authority and responsibility to ensure effective management of the resources.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and professional and ethical behavior of all personnel.



What We Are Looking For


  • 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing programs or projects with OCONUS performance locations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of defense/joint services, analysis, data, and systems.
  • Experience leading large complex projects or multi-disciplined teams.
  • Able to supervise, manage, support, and evaluate personnel.
  • Experience at a Combatant Command or equivalent organization.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the regional, political, and military issues of South America, Central America, and/or the Caribbean.
  • Possess a current Project Management Institute Project Management Professional or Program Management Professional certification.
  • Clearance: Must possess and maintain a TS with access to SCI.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Program Management Institute.

Preferred: Bonus Points For...
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese language capabilities at the 2 level on the DLPT or equivalent.
  • Possess a Top Secret clearance.
  • P&L or military acquisition program or product management experience (understanding the process, structure, and framework of how the USG makes acquisition decisions for products and services).
  • Understand FEDSIM and IAC vehicles as well the MILDEPs and GCCs.
  • Have a portfolio of wins or depth in pulling opportunities from a concept to a contract with a client



Physical Requirements

Job performance may require working in an industrial or shipboard environment. Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
