Position Summary
Our Sr. Internal Auditor is responsible for supporting specialized Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) Compliance, financial, IT and operational audit efforts. You will typically be involved in activities such as executing risk audit-based programs, reviewing financial, operational, compliance systems and processes to determine efficiency, effectiveness and alignment with internal policies, procedures and regulations, collaborate with audit team and process owners in identifying risks and controls based on IT subject matter expertise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Lead complex and/or specialized audits and special projects
- Conduct complex audit activities to analyze and evaluate the performance of the organization's financial, operational, compliance, and/or IT processes and systems to identify risks, areas for improvement, and to ensure that the organization complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards
- Conduct specialized audit projects independently; plan, organize, and schedule own workload so that audit activities are completed accurately and on time
- Collect, examine, analyze, and verify information about the organization's systems and processes by reviewing manuals, policies, reports, financial statements, and other written materials, and by interviewing organizational members where required
- Develop recommendations for changes to processes and systems that will minimize risk, improve performance and productivity and ensure that the organization complies with all relevant regulations, laws, and standards
- Prepare audit reports that accurately document the audit process and its findings
- Partner with and build strong working relationships with business line management
- Contribute to the ongoing audit risk assessment process
- Review work, coach, mentor and train internal auditors, audit interns and/or business line guest auditors
- Lead the development of internal audit policy and procedure documentation
- Achieve Internal Audit Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Lead additional special projects
