What's unique about this role?
As a DSP III who also supports Employment Services, you serve as a major support clients in achieving the dignity of work. Clients navigate various roles and jobs and need a perceptive DSP III to accompany, encourage, and support clients creatively. This role really can be a bridge to gainful independence and uncover potential and passion for trying new things in a client's life. This job requires a great deal of independence, so integrity and trust are a must!

What does my day look like? Well, since you have 203 days NOT at work each year, we hope it looks however you want... BUT when you are at work, some duties include (see full job description attached for more):
- Bathing, toileting, hygiene support, Supporting exercise and mobility
- Assisting clients through behavioral challenges per their plan
- Ensuring safety of clients and others during times of agitation
- Communicating and coordinating with teams and others to support clients in the most effective way
- Learning about best practices, emerging techniques, and systems of support
- Assisting clients in arriving to work and completing their jobs with appropriate level of support.
- Accompanying clients to outings and events they are interested in (camping, fishing, art).
Being creative in coming up with opportunities for clients who face barriers. - Supporting work-skills development
- Assisting clients in expressing their feelings in emotions in appropriate ways. Supporting challenging behavior if necessary
Available schedules:
- 12-13 hour shifts between 5AM and 8PM (Days)
- Generally a combination of 3-shifts between Sunday-Wednesday OR 3 shifts between Wednesday-Saturday. (Ex Sun 5A-5P, Tues 5A-5P, Wed 5A-5P).
- Most schedules require 1 weekend shift. Most scheduled do not rotate and are the same week to week
- Ability to trade shifts without using PTO is generally acceptable; this allows for many days off with no use of PTO.
