What are the responsibilities and job description for the Coordinator 4H position at Hillside?
Hillside has an exciting 4H Coordinator position responsible for the overall care of our livestock. This will include the selection of appropriate feed, evaluation of animal health, vaccinations and tagging/ tattooing to meet New York State requirements and the cleanliness of the barn area, pastures and greenhouse.
Responsibilities:
- Works with recreation department to ensure that our youth have activities that provide skill development that is fun, challenging, and educational.
- Responsible for assisting staff with 4H youth projects.
- Will evaluate youth the ensure they are working with animals appropriate for their skill level.
- Will create opportunities for youth to work with 4H projects in the community.
- Provide professional expertise in the area of animal husbandry, animal care and related training.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Livestock Heath and Production, or related field, Master’s degree preferred
· 5 years of experience
· Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License and meet agency driving and insurance standards
