Revel, adjacent to the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Downtown is seeking a Bar Manager. Your role as a Bartender / Bar Manager at Revel is extremely important to our success. You will be responsible for working with the management team while overseeing bar operations, ensuring excellent guest service, coaching & training staff along with ordering & maintaining inventory. You will have a strong influence on creating drinks and drink menus. Your expertise in mixology, craft cocktails and attention to detail will contribute to creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for our guests. You’re required to demonstrate genuine hospitality while greeting and establishing an energetic, interactive & friendly polished atmosphere. This role requires a dynamic individual with the ability to lead by example, communicate, have a strong knowledge of current trends and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

General Job Guidelines/Responsibilities:

Guest Interaction:

  • Engage with guests to understand their preferences and recommend suitable drinks.
  • Provide excellent customer service by being knowledgeable, approachable, and attentive.
  • Ensure we deliver a guest first mentality by interacting with the guests to create an enjoyable, memorable experience.

Staff Management:

  • Open or close the restaurant in the absence of management.
  • Direct and support bar staff, including bartenders, barbacks, and servers.
  • Schedule shifts and manage time-off requests to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Coordinate schedules to cover events and banquets.
  • Train new employees in bar procedures, drink recipes, and customer service standards.

Bar Operations & Compliance:

  • Efficiently manage & direct the bar area, including stocking and organizing ingredients, utensils, and glassware.
  • Monitor and control beverage costs.
  • Deliver a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure compliance with local and state alcohol regulations.
  • Responsible service of alcohol, including monitoring patrons for signs of intoxication.
  • Work with banquet & event managers on orders for scheduled events.

Mixology Techniques:

  • Have the ability to create exciting craft cocktails.
  • Keep abreast of new ingredients and technologies in the beverage industry.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Prior experience as a bar manager / supervisor.
  • Proven experience as a Mixologist or Bartender in a reputable establishment.
  • In-depth knowledge of spirits, wines, and beers.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS certification) is a plus.
