Transitioning to a corporate managed Hilton in early January 2023, the newly branded Hilton Motif Seattle is looking for a Manager on Duty.
Located on 5th Avenue in the heart of downtown Seattle, this stylish boutique hotel is nestled between Pike Place Market and Union Street and is surrounded by the city's finest restaurants, shopping, entertainment venues, museums and attractions. This sleek urban style hotel features amenities including a vibrant award-winning restaurant offering an extensive outdoor patio with sweeping city views, over 22,000 square feet of meeting space, and 319 newly redesigned rooms.
A Manager on Duty supervises Reception operations and assists with Front Office departmental goals and targets to ensure a continuously improving customer service experience to Guests.
What will I be doing?
As a Manager on Duty, you will supervise Reception operations and assists Front Office departmental goals and targets to ensure a continuously improving customer service experience to Guests. The Manager on Duty contributes to the first impressions of our Guests and, therefore, must perform the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Supervise accurate and efficient Reception operations including check in/out procedures
- Support Team Members in handling Guest requests and enquires to ensure a positive outcome
- Ensure Front Office Managment is fully aware of any relevant feedback from Guests and/or other departments
- Ensure a consistent, high level of customer service
- Brief your team on any events or VIP guests in the hotel that day
- Drive sales revenues and promote hotel services and facilities for up-selling opportunities
- Understand and apply correct procedures regarding the acceptance of foreign currencies, credit cards and cash in accordance with the hotel credit policy
- Assist with the implementation and achievement of departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets and policies and procedures
- Monitor the appearance, standards and performance of the Front Office Team with an emphasis on training and teamwork
- Ensure Team Members have current knowledge of all room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, local area and other general product knowledge necessary to perform their duties
- Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics to inspire Team Members to meet and exceed standards
- Act in accordance with the front of house equipment and the property management systems
- Conduct training programs on an ongoing basis
- Carry out shift handovers and brief team members as required
- Follow company brand standards
- Assist other departments, as necessary, and maintain good working relationships with hotel Team Members

The hourly rate is $24.00 - $25.00 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.

Other Compensation
- Employee stock purchase program (ESPP) - purchase Hilton shares at 15% discount
- Front Office Upselling Incentive Program – Commission based program paid out bi-weekly and is based on upsell generated revenue. Revenue is calculated at time of guest check-out. Upsell revenue includes; room type upgrades, early check-in fee, and late check out fees. Commission is calculated as follows:
Late check-outs and early check-in earns 10% commission
Upsell revenue earns 15% commission
- Complimentary meals in the cafeteria while on shift
