What are the responsibilities and job description for the Strategic Communications Lead position at HIMSS?
Your Challenge:
In this role, you will manage and implement communication activities, including writing and editing for communication initiatives, as well as creating opportunities for HIMSS staff, leadership and volunteers to engage with press. This position requires the Strategic Communications Lead to interact with staff and HIMSS members to achieve objectives and goals
Essential Responsibilites
- Write and edit content for HIMSS communication initiatives and other communications vehicles managed by the Strategic Communications team.
- Craft press releases and other related content to support overall strategic communications initiatives.
- Coordinate logistics for press engagement opportunities, including planning, implementation, and evaluation of the pressroom and related activities.
- Track year-around press engagement.
- Track campaign progress and activities throughout the year, reporting on progress.
- Collaborate with team in executing on year-around initiatives and campaigns.
- All duties as assigned to achieve HIMSS goals and objectives.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned that contribute to the effectiveness of the department and to accomplish strategic goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with HNA Staff and Leadership, as well as external stakeholders, for interviews, content development, and analytical activities.
What you will need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communication or Marketing field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of related work experience in managing digital communication strategies and implementing editorial content across platforms.
- Outstanding analytical skills with ability to achieve results in a complex environment.
- Superior planning skills, both strategic and tactical.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and work as part of a team.
- Intermediate knowledge of all social media platforms and demonstrated success of implementing messaging across all channels.
- Basic HTML skills.
