Hire Direct Inc. is currently interviewing for a Human Resources Manager opportunity in Lena, WI. The HR Manager will be expected to drive and implement HR initiatives to increase organizational effectiveness, build capability and talent of the workforce, and lead strategy and tactics to positively impact overall business performance and HR metrics. Must have solid experience of plant / manufacturing life.
Responsibilities:
- Provides HR consulting expertise to supervisors, managers, and employees in the areas of resolution of employee concerns / complaints, grievances, employee coaching and discipline, investigations, work performance and development and promotion of a positive employee environment.
- Lead change initiatives with a positive approach. Remain approachable and visible to employees and assist as needed.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations (Federal, State, Local) laws, and company policies / guidelines.
- Oversees the administration of the benefit programs (health, dental, disability, life, savings, and retirement plans).
- Manages recruitment and hiring process to ensure staffing needs are met for all hourly, non exempt, and exempt level positions.
- Administers personnel and employee relations programs.
- Administer current programs in accordance with established policies and procedures including EEO and ADA compliance.
- Consults with employees and manages to address root cause of issues and resolves through a systematical and analytical approach, including investigations.
- Makes recommendations to minimize potential employment liability.
- Consults with management team to analyze and assess peoples needs and issues. Develops and implements appropriate action plans.
- Coordinates employee functions and activities (picnics, holiday parties) with the assistance of the HR staff and employee committees.
- Review and maintain current applicable plant policies, procedures, documents related to Human Resources (job descriptions, work rules).
- Assist Plant Manager in regard to Human Resources issues, projects as required.
- Assist in identifying and planning development strategies for internal talent.
Requirements:
- 5 years of HR Generalist / HR Manager experience in employee relations, hourly, non-exempt, and exempt recruiting, labor relations, leadership development, and /or compensation / benefit administration in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or related field or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, HRIS, and ATS applications, Workday knowledge is a plus!
- Demonstrates business maturity and integrity, especially when dealing with highly confidential information.
- Prior experience working with a Union preferred.
