Four Mile Historic Park is seeking a Development Associate to join its tight-knit team. In this role supporting the CEO, the Development Associate will use expert communication skills and a keen sense of initiative to spot fundraising opportunities, develop relationships with potential donors, and manage fundraising campaigns. By coordinating events, writing proposals, and recruiting and managing sponsors, the Development Associate will hone speaking, writing, and leadership abilities while moving Four Mile Historic Park closer to its financial goals. Visitors can tour the home; admire horses, chickens, and goats; then visit the summer kitchen and blacksmith shop to engage in demonstrations. Duties and Responsibilities: The Development Associate reports to the CEO and will provide development support for all Four Mile initiatives. A flexible schedule is a must, with the ability to work nights and weekends. Identify new funding opportunities Hands-on support for all fundraising initiatives Organize and implement efficient systems for processing acknowledgment of gifts, responding to donor inquiries, and managing donor database Coordinate event sponsor relationships Build rapport and provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders Research funding sources to identify the match between their priorities and 4MHP programs and events Maintain fundraising and development calendar Assist in planning and implementing signature events Coordinate mail solicitation campaigns Create and manage sponsorship program Provide support in soliciting sponsorships and community partnerships Recruit and manage relationships and fulfillment with sponsors Assist in the planning and execution of all programmatic events and programs. Support the implementation and all aspects of special events and programs When needed, manage front desk operations during general admission hours and for special events Provide superb administrative and communications support and assistance to the CEO and board of directors Prepare meeting materials, and agendas, and take meeting minutes as needed Other duties as assigned by the CEO Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit management, event planning, and fundraising Experience and impressive track record of raising support and running programs Ability to work independently but also contribute to a strong team environment Strong understanding of the fundamental role that events and programming play in furthering the vision of the organization. Proven experience in budget management Capacity to multi-task and remain flexible to accommodate program needs Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong communicator Highly organized with the ability to multitask Upbeat, high-energy “self-starter” with excellent verbal and written communication skills Working knowledge of GSuite Interest in and knowledge of Colorado/Western history Previous experience with an SCFD-funded organization desired Knowledge of Quickbooks Online is a plus Salary, Location, and Hours: $55,000-$65,000/yr salary depending on experience. Unlimited PTO, Health and Dental Benefits, 401k after 1 year of employment. This role is full-time with 32-40 hours per week with average daily hours from 9:30 am-4:30 pm. Evening and weekend work is required and the schedule is based on the needs of the Park. Physical Requirements/Work Environment Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to reach with their hands and arms for extended periods.
