Delivery Driver

HireQuest Direct in Cambridge is looking for a delivery driver. In this position you will be responsible for driving a 26 foot box truck to customer work sites and shops and loading/unloading fabricated sheet metal. You will then go back to the shop to assist the shipping department with preparing the next days deliveries after all current deliveries are made, this would include assembly of some items, stacking, prepping, organizing, labeling and wrapping pallets.

1st shift - Monday-Friday 5am-2pm

Qualification:

• Must have a clean driving record
• Must have a valid drivers license
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
• Must have a health card or the ability to obtain one
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hrs. per day
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with/without help from others, ability to lift large items with the help of others
• Ability to know what the tasks are and prioritize, and have strong organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

• Use available technology to find customer addresses and locations while adhering to assigned routes and following time schedules
• Maneuver pallet jacks while loaded and unloaded on and off trucks
• Ability to operate equipment and machines, such as cars, trucks, forklifts. etc.
• Safely travel roadways
• Loading, transporting, and delivering items to customers or businesses in a safe, timely manner
• Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles
• Providing excellent customer service, answering questions, and handling or relaying complaints from customers
• Abiding by all transportation laws and maintaining a safe driving record. Inspect and monitor delivery vehicle
• Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries

Shipping Assistant:

• Assemble, address, stamp, and ship merchandise or material
• Unpack, verify, and record incoming merchandise or material
• Arrange appropriate transportation of products
• Assist customers with shipping inquiries
• Load and unload company trucks with materials to be delivered to customers

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $15.00 - $20.74 per hour
