HM Solutions Inc., a leading facility services company, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Area Manager over assigned accounts within its Midwest region. The Area Manager will oversee operations and provide direction for onsite janitorial supervisor staff at multiple client locations. The ideal candidate will have experience cleaning commercial, industrial and office spaces as well as experience managing a janitorial staff. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and should share our company's commitment to excellent customer service. Frequent travel, including periodic overnight stays, is required to provide proper oversight at assigned accounts. Company vehicle, phone, and credit card for business expenses will be provided.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct onsite janitorial supervisors and team members daily activities at various onsite client locations
- Recruit, hire, train, develop, and evaluate the performance of personnel.
- Routinely inspects quality of service delivery
- Proactive customer communication, recommending additional services as needed.
- Prompt response to customer requests, projects, or complaints to ensure quality standards are met or exceeded.
- Frequent travel, including periodic extended or overnight travel, is necessary to observe operations or meet with team members or customers.
- Maintain inventory of supplies to avoid disruption of service.
- Evaluate, on a regular basis, the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements
- Manage accounts according to budgetary requirements.
- Ensure team operates in compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, safety guidelines, and best practices.
- Ensure efficiency of the work team and adjust as necessary based on individual strengths
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience cleaning commercial, industrial and office spaces preferred
- 1 years of supervisory/leadership experience
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay ahead of repetitive, ongoing tasks
- Proven track record mentoring and training subordinate employees
- Willingness to engage in hands-on work when team is short-staffed or behind schedule
- Expertise in commercial cleaning equipment and practices preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization, leadership, and management skills.
- Excellent time management and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of employment, labor, and safety regulations preferred
- Strong ability to use applicable software systems and navigate a smartphone and laptop.
- Must be able to pass all required employment screening processes
Assigned account locations are based on HM Solutions current footprint in the area and any future business development within the region. The successful candidate is expected to relocate or reside in the specified region.
Physical Requirements:
- Occasional periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Frequent stooping, bending, crouching, climbing, pushing, or pulling; and possible exposure to loud noises.
- Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 50 pounds may be required
- Exposure to biohazardous material and chemicals commonly experienced or used in the janitorial industry.
- May use janitorial equipment such as vacuums, foggers, and floor scrubbers.
- Use of PPE such as latex gloves, protective clothing, safety glasses, and masks as needed.
- Capable and willing to travel extensively
