What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corrosion Technician position at HMI Services?

Position Summary:
- Perform basic field testing of corrosion control systems
- Provide field support for design testing
- Work independently, make field decisions without direct supervision and be responsible for obtaining field data
- Compile and submit field data for senior staff review.
- Be familiar with standard survey and construction practices for corrosion control projects
- Organize and perform multiple small projects simultaneously.
- Evaluate field data and prepare draft reports for the area supervisor.
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years (minimum) experience in corrosion control industry particularly related to cathodic protection work.
- Nace CP Certification CP-1 Required, CP-2 is preferred
- Perform ECDA tools (eg. CIS, DCVG, ACVG, ACCA)
- Experience with Allegro QX and/or McMiller GX dataloggers.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as interact with team members, clients and management staff.
- Ability/ willingness to travel as required for the job.
- Clean driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle
This position may require significant time standing or walking on uneven ground, possible climbing of ladders or being in high places, working in tight spaces, lifting up to 60 pounds, and, in general, being overall physically demanding. It may also require work in an all-weather environment.
