What We're Looking For
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our Asset Management and Resilience Solutions section in Chicago, IL or open to other HNTB office locations. This role is responsible for the management of projects or tasks related to innovative solutions for asset management or resilience client needs. These projects are for a variety of transportation infrastructure clients, primarily in highway, bridge, transit, and aviation sectors.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Ensures overall IT project delivery excellence by developing and effectively managing project schedules, budget, issues & risks, scope, resources, communications, and quality.
- Effectively manages project team resources as well as vendor assigned personnel.
- Establishes and cultivates relationships by ensuring that stakeholders are effectively communicated to and continuously engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establishes project governance, standards, and analytics/reports to ensure project delivery achieves HNTB’s 4 For 4 (Consistent delivery of quality work, on time, on budget, and to the client’s satisfaction on every project) objectives.
- Implements effective communication plans to fulfill information needs of executive, business and IT stakeholders and provides timely and accurate project status reports.
- Defines, advocates and ensures adherence to IT project methodologies.
- Supports, enables and coaches staff on IT project methodologies and utilizes AARs for continuous process improvements.
- Serves as a catalyst for Quality Assurance and ensures the solution fulfills the defined success criteria and desired customer satisfaction.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant degree and 7 years project management experience, or
- In lieu of education, 11 years project management experience
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manages all or any aspects of multiple complex projects ranging in size focusing on either Asset Management or Resilience Solutions to transportation infrastructure
- Experience with requirements analysis/gathering and applying techniques to respond to documented requirements
- Responsible for the coordination of administrative aspects of the project to ensure that projects assigned are completed within the schedule and budget and to the client’s satisfaction
- Writes project proposals and specifications, reviews contracts, and develops detailed scope-budget-budget documents.
- Serves as primary point-of-contact with client and other project consultants.
- Estimates fees, determines work scope and prepares proposals and contracts.
- Coordinates with and involves other members of the project technical staff.
- Manages client budget, schedule and program and HNTB budget and schedule.
- Manages project communications and documentation.
- Reviews work of other project team members for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinates and communicates regularly with department managers on progress of projects
- Serves as project manager in a collaborative environment to conceptualize, write and produce effective presentations
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Public Administration, Planning, Civil Engineering or related profession with 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in infrastructure and transportation
- Prior project management experience
- High degree of interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to deliver public presentations
- Exercise independent judgment and initiative within established guidelines
- Ability to work with innovative and new technologies, approaches, and requirements
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) software systems implementation
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of risk and resilience, primarily with ISO 55000
- Knowledge of applications of geographic information systems (GIS) and other technology applications related to asset management and facilities management
- Knowledge of TAM, SAMP, TAMP or other asset management plan requirements
- Experience with requirements analysis/gathering and applying techniques to respond to documented requirements
- Previous experience working in or with the public sector
