REHAB AIDE - REHAB ADMIN
Department: Allied Health Status: Full Time Shift: 1st Remote or Onsite: Onsite Location:Newport Beach, CA, US, 92617
Salary Range:$16.4600 - $25.3300 /hour. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, skill level, and education.
The Rehab Aide assists with patient care services and departmental functioning in Rehabilitation Services under the direction of a Physical or Occupational Therapist. The Rehab Aide displays and practices a work-style that reflects the mission, vision and values of the Rehabilitation Services Department, as well as the Organization. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process. Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures, including the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality Control requirements, and preventive maintenance.
Essential Functions Rehab Aide:
Maintains cleanliness and neatness of department equipment and all department areas.
Maintains necessary amount of linen and supplies as needed for patient treatment and department function.
Transports patients to and from department.
Demonstrates understanding and utilizes department equipment as needed.
Arrives for assignment on time. Prepares for treatment by having the patient ready and having any needed supplies and equipment available.
Reports pertinent data to primary therapist.
Reinforces education as it relates to Physical or Occupational Therapy.
Recognizes and prevents environment hazards to the patient and unit.
Utilizes equipment and material in a cost-effective manner.
Demonstrates understanding and performs the following patient care tasks: exercise, gait training, transfer and ADL training under the direct supervision and direction of a Physical or Occupational Therapist.
Demonstrates understanding and performs the following patient care tasks: heat, cold and ultrasound under the direct supervision and direction of a Physical or Occupational Therapist.
Adheres to Infection Control policies and procedures, follows Standard Precautions and specific isolation precautions for the prevention and spread of bloodborne pathogens and communicable diseases.
Follows hospital policy and procedure in the identification of patient prior to beginning treatment
Reports all near misses and errors per hospital policy.
During light workload situations, seeks out additional tasks/duties in the department.
Maintains composure under stress
Observes patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions and report any change to the therapy staff.
Uses initiative to resolve problems with appropriate action and follow through.
Discusses concerns, problems and complaints with supervisor in a timely manner.
Assists in orientation and education of aides.
Education, Training and Experience
Required:
Preferred:High School graduate preferred. Previous hospital experience preferred
Skills or Other Qualifications
Required: Demonstrates effective communication, interpersonal skills, organizational ability, knowledge of proper body mechanics, safety measures and infection control, ability to follow instructions, knowledge of section specific test information and instrumentation may be required
