Essential Functions:
- Hires, develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
- Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
- Analyzes, evaluates, and identifies preferred vendors based on specific performance criteria
- Previews, analyzes, and completes purchase agreements with key vendors and internal commodity experts to leverage company purchasing power
- Produces detailed analyses and reports results of vendor scorecards to senior leadership for evaluation
- Provides guidance in determining vendor standards for evaluating performance
- Determines the appropriate procurement and requisition strategies
- Develops purchasing programs that leverages company purchasing power to deliver, at the appropriate quality, the low-cost options for raw materials, supplies and services
- Develops and implements the company's purchasing guidelines and processes
- Reviews vendor master records for proper classification; creates a centralized "catalog" for material master records, and develops performance scorecards for new and existing vendors
- Develops policies for preparing cost estimates for Renewable Energy Projects o Assesses cost effectiveness of products and services o Tracks actual costs as the project develops
- Collaborates with leaders from other departments to formulate estimates and resolves issues
- Assess cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentations
- Manages the supply chain activities of an organization o Assists with overseeing tasks related to production planning, materials purchasing, inventory control, price setting, vendor selection, and distribution
- Maintains contact with vendors and submits purchase orders or requisitions to ensure a continuous supply of goods
- Evaluates existing supply chain processes, implementing changes when necessary to improve efficiency and overall performance
- Documents the performance of supply chain staff and overall processes
- Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of electrical engineering and construction
- Understanding of electrical and construction takeoffs and estimating based on detailed engineered drawings
- Proficiency with MS Office products; advanced Excel skills
- Strong math skills
- Exceptional business acumen and attention to detail and accuracy
- Skilled in effective oral and written communication
- Excellent interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
- Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline oriented
- Ability to exercise good judgment
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Additional specialized/technical training or some college courses preferred
- Minimum 15 years of related work experience required
- Master Electrician License preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Travel:
- Travel up to 20% typically overnight for site surveys and pre-bid conference
Physical Requirements:
- This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, occasional movement inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.
- This role frequently communicates with others, must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
Work Environment:
- This job is generally performed in a professional office environment
- Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
