What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marketing Specialist position at HOLT CAT?
The Marketing Specialist will support the Marketing department with the execution of marketing materials and plans. This role participates in sales meetings, store meetings, manager meetings, ride-alongs, etc. and will manage all marketing needs within assigned area of responsibility by leveraging the resources within the Marketing Department – Data, Creative, Digital – to execute the needs.
Essential Functions:
• Models, promotes, reinforces, and rewards the consistent use of HOLT’s Values Based Leadership (VBL) tools, models, and processes to ensure alignment with our Vision, Values, and Mission
• Works with leadership to understand needs for marketing campaigns including identification of budget, target audience, target products, duration and offers
• Collaborates with Marketing Manager and other team resources to design campaigns to utilize all relevant marketing tactics available
• Executes tactical marketing campaigns from planning to analysis including routine performance communications
• Participates in, and supports, monthly communication of current and future campaign plans and performance with the management team
• Maintains a good understanding of manufacturer campaigns and communicates those to the management and sales staff
• Manages the coordination of marketing communication, including relevant content for email campaigns, social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram), on-hold messaging, websites, etc.
• Oversees the full cycle of customer events and tradeshows, including pre-event promotion, event coordination, post-event tracking, and inputting leads into CRM system alongside the corporate event planning team
• Provides research for new tradeshows and association events, advertising opportunities with associations, industry websites, and data sources to assist with new customer identification
• Determines needs for all promotional merchandise and coordinates with other Marketing Department resources and CAT-licensed vendors to fulfill and deliver upon receipt
• Works with marketing resources and vendors to provide input regarding in-store signage, promotional materials, and email marketing newsletters by understanding the products and services that the division(s) are interested in promoting and providing relevant content
• Collaborates with marketing peers as needed when Public Relations opportunities are available to promote products, services, events etc.
• Strategically identifies customer lists from multiple data sources for marketing campaigns, event invites, prospecting etc. utilizing Saleslink, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, etc.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for the division(s) regarding assistance with sales materials, campaigns, events, lead gen, etc., including providing consultive professional marketing recommendations, insight, and support
• Works safely always and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
• Performs other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Admin, or a related field is preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a marketing coordinator position
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• General knowledge of the heavy equipment sales industry
• Strong knowledge of marketing strategies, concepts, and practices
• Knowledge and proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and common dealership computer systems
• Strong project management and performance measurement skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Able to compile and analyze performance data to develop metrics that support decision-making for resource allocation and subsequent campaigns
• Solid business acumen, time-management, and problem-solving skills
• Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment with frequent interruptions
• Demonstrated time management skills to meet multiple deadlines
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
• Intermediate proficiency with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to interact with tact and courtesy and maintain a professional manner
• The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing
• The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
• Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
Travel:
• Up to 20% travel, including overnight travel
