Holtsford Gilliland Hitson Howard Stevens Tuley & Savarese, P.C. is seeking an accounting professional to join the firm in the Montgomery, AL office. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of accounts payable/bookkeeping experience.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Pays vendors and employee reimbursement requests.
  • Opens and closes client matters in accounting software.
  • Prepares expense documentation for client billing.
  • Prepares and edits client bills.
  • Ensures financial data is entered correctly and accurately.
  • Assists in maintaining Accounting Department client records.
  • Reconciles and reports differences or issues found in financial records.
  • Orders office supplies.
  • Assists Comptroller with asset management.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Understanding of basic accounting procedures and principles.
  • Ability to use accounting software to record, store, and analyze financial data.
  • Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and Excel.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets and accounting software.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, well organized.
  • High level of integrity and trustworthiness. Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Great interpersonal skills with ability to interact professionally with management, other employees, and vendors.
  • Team-player who can also work independently.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree with accounting coursework preferred.
  • At least two-three years of accounts payable or bookkeeping experience preferred.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $37,500.00 per year
