Overview

The Director, Plant Human Resources will be responsible for managing complex, specialized projects and align HR strategies with business goals and objectives. Creates and evaluates new HR strategies to drive organizational performance and recommends changes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.  In addition, responsible for providing coaching, facilitating discussions and making recommendations to the leadership team/managers/supervisors for salaried and hourly employees around talent management, performance management, development needs and improving overall employee engagement.  Also, heavy focus on employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary action and performance improvement counseling;  conducting investigations regarding discrimination and unyou're hard-working and dedicated, Home Chef is an excellent place to grow your career!

Responsibilities

Employee Relations/ Business Partnership:

• Partner with leadership team to align and execute HR strategies in support of business objectives
• Optimize organization design, succession planning, and talent retention and development
• Collaborate with other HRDs to increase efficiency for employees and company while reinforcing our culture, values, and mission
• Coordinate timely resolution of all employee relations issues and performance correction actions, in compliance with labor law and company policies
• Investigate, and help resolve issues, disputes, inappropriate behavior, and possible ethics violation
• Obtain employee feedback to guide management direction, and design initiatives to create and maintain great culture

General Responsibilities:

• Protects interest of employees and the company in accordance with company policies, governmental laws and regulations
• Manage and lead the HR teams at the plants
• Oversee payroll practices ensuring consistency and accuracy
• Oversee the Workers Compensation, Unemployment and other types of claims and leaves of absence

Staffing & Development:

• Facilitate  training for both management and workforce on various policies
• Ensure and oversee effective onboarding process for new employees, to include corporate culture overview
• Oversee Recruiting, including tracking metrics and identifying additional sources of candidates
• Implement and drive performance management process and tie pay to performance
• Direct employee engagement strategies and activities to improve the employee experience and overall retention

This position requires  5% or less travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with at least 7 years in a management level position
• At least 12 years experience in a HRM  in food, logistics, or manufacturing setting.
• Has business maturity and strong emotional intelligence to coach, develop, influence and counsel mid-level managers and employees.
• Strong work ethic and a initiative  
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, strong problem-solving skills, good judgment
• Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information 
• Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization
• Demonstrate success in designing, leading, and achieving projects and workgroup initiatives 
• Good computer skills (MS Office, Google Suite Timekeeping, ATS, HRIS, etc)
