What are the responsibilities and job description for the HDQC TRUSS SPECIALIST II position at Home Depot / THD?
Position Purpose:
The Truss Specialist 2 provides quality professional service that consistently meets or exceeds Company standards of excellence and customer expectations. Acts as a primary point of contact for Home Depot Associates and HD Components vendor network during the pre and post sales process.
Position is responsible for meeting and/or exceeding individual service quality goals and contributes to various related department goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- 30% Review and analyze specifications, blueprints, engineered drawings and related designs to determine factors affecting design of the wall, truss, and engineered wood components
- 25% Advises Truss Specialist 1 and Quoting Expediter on technical aspects of customer inquiries and serves as a point of escalation for transactions requiring advanced expertise or discernment
- 20% Partner with HD Components vendor network with any questions and/or concerns related to quotes and/or designs
- 10% Effectively and routinely balance multiple customers and tasks
- 10% Meet or exceed scorecard requirements for productivity and quality
- 5% Assist Home Depot associates with quoting process and questions related to truss quotes and orders via phone and email
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- This position reports to the HDQC HD Components Supervisor.
- This position has 0 direct reports.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older.
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College Degree preferred
- Advanced knowledge of standard practices and terminology commonly found in the construction and structural engineering industries
- Advanced knowledge and expertise of truss design principles and practices
- Ability to read and understand architectural and structural plans
- Competency in basic mathematics and geometry
- Typing proficiency
