The Job
Reporting to the Sr Director of Product Marketing, this role will lead our GTM efforts for employee and financial services. You’ll own market segmentation, product positioning, and go-to-market strategy. But ultimately you’ll be the voice of the customer.
Our core business is serving small businesses with hourly teams. But in that capacity we have the opportunity to impact the lives of the millions of hourly employees who work at these businesses. We’re building out a new team to develop services—specifically financial—to help them.
You’ll partner with our product teams to understand market opportunities, define our roadmap, and deliver new products and features to these workers. You will be responsible for understanding the needs of hourly workers and using those insights to communicate the value and benefits of Homebase. You’ll work with product, customer support, and marketing to build the right experiences for different segments of users. You will take insights from user and market research and apply them to improve our roadmap as well as GTM. You’ll turn data into strategy and strategy into tactics to drive more awareness and adoption of Homebase products.
Responsibilities
- Own positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies for our products and financial services designed to help hourly workers
- Execute on go-to-market plans with product, marketing, and support to drive awareness, adoption, upsell, and retention
- Drive the holistic experience of hourly workers in Homebase--make it welcoming, easy, and valuable
- Drive market research and segmentation and partner with product to influence roadmap and marketing to optimize messaging across the funnel
- Partner with support, product, and user research to constantly learn about the customer and their needs and the competitive landscape
- Understand the needs of hourly workers and be their voice
- Make sure each user is getting the most out of Homebase
- Build repeatable processes for product launches and user communications
- Responsible for facilitating legal compliance for finance marketing
Requirements
- 6 yrs of experience in marketing, 4 yrs of experience in product marketing specifically
- Experience in consumer finance marketing (with a strong understanding of the legal risks and regulatory compliance requirements for consumer finance market)
- Strengths in messaging and positioning
- Experience doing qualitative and quantitative customer and market research
- Excellent executive communication skills: synthesizing complex problems and convincing people of your point of view
- Must be excellent at written communication and content development
- Deep customer empathy
- Proven ability to work closely with and influence product leadership
- Excellent project management skills and experience building go-to-market plans
- Analytical mindset and comfort using data to diagnose and inform decisions
- Thrive in a startup environment: ability to prioritize, adapt, test, and learn
- Be curious, detail-oriented, and a problem solver
- Ability to work well cross-functionally
- BA/BS degree required; MBA a plus
