Job Summary:
This position will deliver measurable, sustainable results by implementing HP Hood’s approach to continuous improvements at the Sacramento facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develops short and long term strategies for the facility. Facilitate projects that target cost reductions, work flow inefficiencies and Safety/Quality improvements.
- Provides, leads, and drives the continuous improvement process at the facility through the “hands-on” support and/or leadership of successful plant continuous improvement projects.
- Works with the division Process Improvement Manager to act as a change agent to instill a continuous improvement culture throughout the facility.
- Monitors progress of key initiatives in order to check if changes yield desirable results.
- Collects data, effectively analyzes it, identifies solutions based on root cause analysis and create business cases to present to plant leadership and “sell” solutions
- Maintains CI implementation schedules for assigned projects, progress updates as required, and most importantly, provides documentation that demonstrates the direct link between CI implementation and Plant Operations improvements.
- Calculates cost reductions and/or various analyses to determine optimal problem solving method.
- Accountable for tracking all CI Projects and reporting progress to plant staff
- Evaluates / confirms production standards for products.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- BS, BA or similar degree with an emphasis in manufacturing, or equivalent is desired.
- Full working knowledge of Lean Concepts with demonstrated success.
- Minimum of 5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Able to communicate to a broad audience from novice to expert and having strong presentation skills.
- Strong coaching, counseling, active listener and interpersonal skills.
- Committed to continuous personal development with strong organizational skills
