Environmental Services (EVS) Team Lead
The Environmental Services Manager will help oversee the facility housekeeping and laundry operation under the supervision of the CEO and dotted line to DOP for supply management only.
Maintains hospital facility in a clean and sanitary condition. Operates the facility laundry and oversees distribution of laundry from vendor.
Performs all other related duties as assigned or requested.
Team Leading
- Follows established protocols and policies to evaluate cleaning practices and gives feedback to staff in a timely manner.
- Follows established protocols and policies to assure that housekeeping and laundry services are provided by the department with consistency and quality.
- Ensures accurate completion of housekeeping check off lists and laundry logs.
- Audits, edits, and maintains employee timesheets.
- Arranges and works in cooperation with Dietary department leadership to schedule, set up, and service facility catering events.
- Assumes on-call duty for Housekeeping and Laundry Departments to responds in the vent of emergencies.
- Performs evaluations of department staff members.
- Performs interviews for prospective employees, and makes hiring decisions for the EVS Department.
- Checks housekeeping and laundry deliveries and assists in processing invoices.
- Performs ordering of department materials and quarterly inventory of housekeeping and laundry stock in coordination with Director of Plant Operations.
- Provides leadership to Environmental Services Department.
Housekeeping
- Oversees and assists EVS staff in cleaning patient rooms, offices, and public areas.
- Directs EVS staff in preparation of meeting rooms for scheduled events.
- Organizes staff to complete necessary room, and / or office moves.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Training : Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Experience : Five or more years related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
General Maintenance background experience required, hospital maintenance experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner as to reflect the highest integrity of Plant Operations.
- Works days, evening, or night shift as assigned.
- Ability to do work on his / her own without more than normal supervision.
- A working knowledge of the fire alarm & signal systems.
- A thorough knowledge of how to use & maintain plant tools & equipment.
- Knowledge & observance of safety precautions.
