TITLE: Thrift Store Manager - Oscoda
SUPERVISED BY: Community Resource Coordinator
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Store staff and volunteers
WAGES/SALARY: Commensurate to experience and qualification.
This is a non-exempt/hourly position
TIME COMMITMENT: Full-Time 40 hrs. per week
JOB SUMMARY:
The Thrift Store Manager is responsible for obtaining or receiving merchandise, totaling bills, accepting payments and making change for customers at Hope Shores Alliance’s thrift store, Revolve by Hope Shores. The manager acts as a representative of Hope Shores Alliance, and carries forward the mission of the agency in every interaction with community members and therefore must have the ability to maintain cooperative and professional demeanor with agency staff, board, participants, volunteers and the general public.
The manager will assist survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking and dating violence in accessing resources, services and support, and will provide trauma-informed survivor directed referrals and assistance. The manager will maintain the strictest level of confidentiality at all times. They will understand and model the application of the Core Competencies of Advocacy to their work with colleagues, community partners, survivors and others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES other duties may be assigned
General
- Supervise store employees and volunteers; provide regular support to paid store employees with bi-weekly supervision sessions as directed by the Community Resource Coordinator.
- Act as the main point of contact to the building landlord and all maintenance or contractual vendors.
- Support advancement of Revolve according to the overall mission of Hope Shores Alliance.
- Assist the Community Resource Coordinator in conducting volunteer training, appreciation events, and orientation for store volunteers
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Revolves business and marketing plan
- Attend monthly staff meetings
- Serve on a minimum of one agency staff committee.
- Create, manage and share with administration a monthly staff and volunteer shift schedule.
- Coordinate building maintenance and repairs that affect normal building operation.
- Track and monitor all building and office supply needs and requests.
- Coordinate the flow of goods from the stock room to the sales floor, and do merchandise replenishment.
- Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
- Assist the store team in maintaining housekeeping standards and store’s visual objectives by straightening merchandise and assisting in fixture and floor changes
- Accept payment and make change.
- Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
- Keep record of sales, prepare inventory of stock and order merchandise.
- Oversee and ensure compliance of all staff with established agency policies.
- Achieve financial objectives and market merchandise through advertising, sales promotion, social media and display plans.
- Remove and record sales receipts and cash in register at end of shift.
- Additional store manager duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

- The highest level of both personal and professional integrity and the courage to both lead and communicate through encouragement rather than authority.
- At least 4 years retail management experience required.
- Must successfully complete intra-agency domestic violence and sexual assault training within the initial 30 days of employment.
- Attend and successfully complete MCEDSV New Service Provider Training within the initial 180 days of employment.
- Must successfully complete all other job related required training within 180 days of employment.
- Must possess or attain Red Cross First Aid and CPR certification within the first 180 days of employment as provided by Hope Shores Alliance.
- Must possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable engaging in challenging conversations and comfortable engaging with diverse audiences and stakeholders.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record as well as provide proof of valid insurance.
- Must pass Criminal History, Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry and State and National Sex Offender background checks.
