Medical Assistant
The Medical Assistant (MA) is a multi-skilled allied health professional, dedicated to assisting in all aspects of the PACE clinic. The Medical Assistant provides overall clinic support that ensures the PACE Clinic runs effectively. The Medical Assistant is responsible for administrative and clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing participants and rooms for examination, assisting physicians with exams, order processing, escorting participants at time of their appointments and performing front desk tasks as needed.
What is PACE?
PACE or Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly is a federal and state funded program that provides comprehensive, coordinated, and proactive whole-person care to help maintain and improve seniors' health so they can live safely in their homes. There are 163 PACE programs, serving more than 72,000 participants in 32 states.
The number of people aged 55 is increasing in Grand Junction, CO and the demand for eldercare professionals is on the rise.
What You Bring:
- Holds and maintains a current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration throughout employment (Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant)
- If there is not a current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration held, must have worked as an MA for 3 years in the last 7 and be willing to register to test and pass for their RMA or CMA the first 90 days of hire.
- Experience working in a primary care clinic setting preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Effectively and respectfully communicate both verbally and in writing in a multitude of situations and settings, including highly emotional interactions.
- Effectively work with and build relationships with others.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively
