The Sr. Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for assisting with, and/or leading, the development, implementation, and administration of various employee/management relations-related projects and activities, including: supporting staff with policy clarification and resolution of concerns; partnering with management on performance management and improvement activities; assisting with the development and delivery of supervisory and leadership development training; and other activities that support the performance and culture initiatives of Horizon.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration/management, human resources, organization development, or a related field.
- Four (4) years of experience with responsibility for human resources, organization development, employee relations, and/or performance improvement functions, including two (2) years of experience conducting internal investigations and/or resolving employee relations issues.
- Solid understanding of human resource and organization management theory, concepts, best practices, and procedures.
- Expertise in systems thinking and process facilitation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead with flexibility and adapt during times of ambiguity.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, variables, and situations.
- Strong attention to details and accuracy.
- Ability to lead complex projects, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse staff across the organization.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Maintain a strong ethical practice and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
- Possess valid Arizona driver’s license, with safe driving record.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a fingerprint clearance card and pass a background check.
- May require occasional travel to outlying Arizona sites/offices.
- S ound judgment and decision-making ability.
- Ability to self-regulate attitude and behaviors.
- Ability to maintain calm, non-defensive, supportive attitude during difficult interactions.
- Ability to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure.
- Long periods of sitting, ability to bend, lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Able to operate phone, fax, copier and a computer.
- Able to operate Agency vehicle.
- Master’s degree in Human Resources/Organization Development or equivalent education/experience in relevant area.
- Experience in healthcare environment.
